Talent Show

December 19, 2013

The girls definitely take after the Chief on their musical talent. And math. And science.

Tuesday night our annual scout party was made into a talent show this year. We had a gymnast, a flutist, a demonstration of the Cup Song, a violinist, a violist, and a tenor saxophonist. I also entertained the littlest by singing “Something in My Brother’s Underpants” and “Deck the Mall” from the Alan Katz/David Catrow children’s book Where Did They Hide My Presents? Silly Dilly Christmas Songs.

T1 performed a duet with the violinist of a Puerto Rican carol called La Media Noche (At Midnight). It was a little shaky at first till they got on beat together but still very good. Then T1 did a solo performance of Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.

T2 performed solo for the first time in front of a group on her tenor sax. She played Frosty the Snowman. Well done!

Both performed at our local Barnes and Noble last night for a school fundraiser. T1 was part of a quartet and T2 was solo. Good job girls! So glad the Chief was home to see it (missed their concerts last week). But T2 left her music portfolio at the book store so we’re hoping someone picked it up!
