T2’s Santa was a garage sale find.

Welcome to the Dining Room. The current owners were thrilled to have a separate dining room in their new home. As noted in the guide-book, the owners installed hardwood flooring. During an upgrade in 2011, the owners added the Kashmir pink wall paint and the custom wainscoting and chair rail. The color of the room was determined by the two Japanese silk paintings of warriors that the owner found at an estate sale and had reframed in traditional white frames. The table, chairs and lowboy are all Kincaid furniture. The china cabinet and hutch were a Good Wood find. A glass cabinet contains the wife’s souvenir glass collection. Her favorite pieces are the Welsh cup, the Las Vegas Star Trek Experience glass, and her Wonder Woman mug. The thimble collection belongs to the owner, started by his grandparents.

For Christmas, the owners display their Santa Claus collection. The oldest dates to 1974 and is the wife’s original Santa Claus. In addition to the HallMark “Father Christmas” series ornaments, a unique Santa or two are added each year to the owner’s collection as well as to each child. The oldest’s child’s first Santa is the large ornate one in the back while the youngest child’s first Santa sits tall in the corner of the room on two chests that were gifted to the children by a relative.

On the lowboy is displayed the family’s advent calendar tree by Thomas Pacconi. It was gifted by the owner’s parents, as well as the Thomas Pacconi music box and winter scene. The wife’s mother painted the pitcher and mugs and passed the set down to her.
